Quote

"We found that there is indeed an intimate connection between suicide and soccer. However, the connection is the opposite of what is commonly believed. It’s not the case that fans jump off buildings when their teams lose. Working with a crack team of Greek epidemiologists, we have found evidence that rather than prompting suicide, soccer stops thousands of people from killing themselves. The game seems to be a lifesaver."

Ogmore Castle

Ogmore was one of three castles built in the area in the early 12th century, the others being Coity Castle and Newcastle Castle. It was in use until the 19th century for a range of purposes, including a court of justice and a prison, but is now a substantial set of remains and a local landmark.

500 Days until the 2014 World Cup in Brazil
Who’s getting ready to… learn a little Portuguese, watch Neymar carry Brazil, see Spain continue to control the game with their tiki-taka, expect England to win it all, support Landon and Clint’s last run with the USMNT, scream “Allez Les Bleus!”, give it up for Mexico’s golden generation, bet on the Ivory Coast’s Touré brothers, scout the next star coming out of South Korea, look at Joachim Low’s German hand gestures, or argue that Messi can finally lead Argentina? We are. What are you ready for?

These men are window washers at a children’s hospital in Pittsburg. Some might think the job is menial, but to the kids who are horribly ill, looking out their window seeing their favorite superhero at their window makes all the pain go away for a bit. And that would make the job worthwhile
